World Welcomes SLIMS
Dignitaries, breast cancer survivors and fashionistas gathered at NYGÅRD’s Kenaston Fashion Park Friday to witness the launch of NYGÅRD SLIMS. The Winnipeg fashion icon’s annual show doubled as the launch of the bum-lifting, tummy-tightening new SLIMS pants.
The show began with breast cancer survivors gracing the runway as models, highlighting the fact that $1 from every purchase of NYGÅRD SLIMS is being donated to local cancer charities.
For that good work and more, owner Peter Nygård was presented with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal at the event by former Lieutenant-Governor Pearl McGonigal, flanked by Senator Rod Zimmer.
Asked why he engineered SLIMS to accentuate all women’s bodies – lengthening legs, firming up middles, and actually lifting the bottoms of models from size 6 to size 16 – Nygård replied, “because it’s what women want.”
