NYGÅRD International fashions the most unique fundraiser every yuletide. It actually conducts a global raffle that involves 1200 employees from around the world and the local Christmas Cheer Board benefits — through our Empty Stocking Fund. NYGÅRD executive VP of operations/ technical design Pat Chapdelaine presented Cheer Board executive director Kai Madsen with a cheque for $10,481.
“That’s just awesome,” said Madsen. “We will spend it wisely. This represents a lot of (Christmas) hampers.” NYGÅRD employees enjoy getting involved. “People look forward to doing the Cheer Board donation,” Chapdelaine said. “Certainly, we’re happy to do this each season.” NYGÅRD raised $5,714 through
the global raffle and $4,277 through its silent auction that included a trip for two to Las Vegas, with the prizes donated by suppliers/ vendors.
Since NYGÅRD started the yuletide tradition in 2006, it has raised more than $78,000 for the Cheer Board. Thank you all for thinking of the Cheer Board’s kids, your generosity should make your own Christmas that much more enjoyable.
SMALL IS BIG:
Got a beautiful Christmas card from Margaret Campbell, who included a cheque for $20 for the Cheer Board. “Hope this helps a bit,” she wrote. Actually, it helps A LOT. If everyone in town who could afford to do did the same, Madsen wouldn’t have to worry about covering the costs of Christmas hampers every year. So, thank you and have a wonderful Christmas.
